Mollie Mitchell is the President and Founder of The K12 Search Group, Inc. After several years of being inundated with calls from charter management organizations seeking recommendations of search firms (and finding it difficult to offer up any good solutions), Mollie decided that there was a need to provide quality executive search services to the growing entrepreneurial K-12 education sector.

Prior to founding The K12 Search Group, Mollie served for more than five years as Senior Director of Recruitment at The Broad Center for the Management of School Systems, a nonprofit organization created by businessman and philanthropist Eli Broad to recruit talented leaders into senior level positions in urban school systems. Mollie was the first full-time staff member hired to oversee all recruiting activities for the Center's two leadership development programs: The Broad Superintendents Academy, a ten-month competitive fellowship to prepare professionals to run large urban school systems, and The Broad Residency, a two-year placement program for up and coming leaders in a large urban school system. She designed and managed the entire selection and admissions process for both programs, which combined, required developing and executing a strategy to recruit over 60 senior executives and mid-level managers each year.

During her tenure at The Broad Center, Mollie recruited over 100 senior executives from business, military, government, nonprofit and education into The Broad Superintendents Academy. More than half of the Broad Academy graduates have been hired as CEOs or senior administrators in public school systems across the nation. Similarly, Mollie has recruited 120 young leaders from the private sector and top MBA programs into The Broad Residency. Since The Residency was created in 2003, over 2800 individuals have applied for 120 Resident positions equating to a selectivity rate of less than 5%.

Prior to joining The Broad Center, Mollie spent three years at Heidrick & Struggles International, a leading global executive search firm. While at Heidrick she executed high level searches across several industries filling positions such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Chief Information Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and VP, Investor Relations. Mollie started her career in human resources in 1992 when she joined SatoTravel in Arlington, Virginia.

Mollie currently serves on the board of directors of the Environmental Charter High School in Lawndale, California and is an Associate Partner in Social Venture Partners Los Angeles - a diverse network of professionals engaged in local venture philanthropy. Mollie holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University and an M.A. from Marymount University.
