Heather began working with The K12 Search Group in January of 2010 after nearly five years with Heidrick & Struggles, one of the largest global executive search firms. She was a member of the firm’s consumer and private equity practices, conducting Board and C-level searches for clients including Fender Musical Instruments, Safeway, InCase, Toys ‘R’ Us, and 24 Hour Fitness.

Prior to Heidrick, Heather worked at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in the Career Management Center. She worked specifically with GSB alumni, managing a range of services including career and industry panels, job postings, and individual coaching on career transitions.

Earlier in her career, Heather was in marketing with Nestle, where she worked on (and ate quite a bit of) Nestle Crunch. She subsequently moved to San Francisco and joined Russell Reynolds Associates, another global executive search firm, in the fall of 2000. In that role, Heather was a generalist, working with consumer, technology and non-profit clients including eBay, T-Mobile, and The Nature Conservancy.

Heather started her career as a Legislative Assistant handling education and welfare issues for a Congressman from her home state of Arizona. She left the Hill to join Share Our Strength, a hunger relief organization which was on the forefront of cause related marketing. Heather was responsible for growth of the organization’s primary fundraising event, Taste of the Nation, in thirty cities in the Western US.

Heather has a BA in Literature and Political Science from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She used to read nearly forty books a year before she had children. Now, she is thrilled when she reads one a month. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, John, and their young daughters, Devyn and Taylor.
